Shavane Anderson Write-Up

The 6’ RB running back at William Penn/York High, passes the eye test for what college coaches are looking for and can be considered a diamond in the rough in the PIAA District 3 area. A captain for the Bearcats, on film Shavane’s game shows the pieces you expect to see from a potential high-level back. His explosion, balance, and physicality are impressive alone but add in his ability to catch the ball makes Anderson a quality all around back.

In his sophomore campaign, Shavane went for over 1000 yards and double-digit touchdowns behind an all-senior offensive line led by current Maryland OL Michael McMonigle. In his junior campaign, Anderson was the veteran of the offense behind an offensive line of four freshmen throughout the season. The inexperience up front did not deter this work horse from being a threat each week to opposing offenses. Averaging 5 yards a touch, the young Bearcats offense continued to improve each week with Shavane’s best two weeks coming at the end of the season and him being named 1st Team All-YAIAA Division 1 at Running Back for the second year in a row.

Watching Shavane in person truly gives you the appreciation of the athletic gift that he has been blessed with and continues to work to improve. Whether on the field or at off-season workouts, it does not take long for him to stand out from the rest of the group. His frame, springs, and ability to change direction puts him at the top of each workout group he competes with. Anderson shows a great team player mentality as he gets along with everyone in the room while pushing them to reach their potential as well.

Overall we expect this 2026 RB out of York to have a great spring/summer camp season and gain more interest from college coaches as his recruiting process continues and to finish his high school career with a strong senior campaign.
